Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
The Assembly Technician supports hands-on manufacturing operations in Childersburg, AL by assembling mechanical and electrical components according to established work instructions and production standards. This role is well suited for individuals with assembly or manufacturing experience, or those with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoy working with hand tools and basic power tools. You will contribute directly to production output in a team-based environment where accuracy, quality, and reliability are essential, making this a strong opportunity for someone seeking steady, long-term manufacturing work close to home.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and mechanical systems according to written work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and production standards.
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including basic electrical wiring and control panel assembly, as required by the build instructions.
- Use hand tools, basic power tools, impact tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and correctly during assembly operations.
- Measure and verify parts and assemblies using tools such as tape measures and other measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Perform final fit, torque, and testing procedures to confirm functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products to identify defects or nonconformities.
- Follow torque specifications and use appropriate fastener types to ensure safe and reliable assemblies.
- Work on your feet throughout the shift in a production or assembly environment to support continuous manufacturing operations.
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards and adhering to safety requirements.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently to ensure reliable and repeatable assembly processes.
- Support lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices by following standardized work and contributing to process improvements when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care to support a safe and efficient production environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and ensure production schedules are met.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and a willingness to learn new tasks and procedures as production needs evolve.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Childersburg, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
