Charitybuzz is looking for a hands-on Analytics Engineer to design and develop the data infrastructure across our product ecosystem. This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring onsite presence four days a week at our vibrant New York City office.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys tackling complex data challenges and is motivated by building systems from the ground up that enable executive insight, marketplace optimization, and financial accountability.

Shift hours/schedules:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize dbt models that transform raw multi-source data into structured, scalable datasets for reporting and analysis
  • Develop and maintain curated data marts across marketplace transactions, bidder participation, inventory, fulfillment/redemption flows, refunds/credits, commissions, partner performance, and cohort-based lifetime value
  • Establish governed metric definitions and ensure KPI standardization across marketing, merchandising, finance, sales, and operations
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL to power transformation, reporting, and analytical workflows
  • Own the structure and integrity of Charitybuzz’s analytics data models, ensuring consistent definitions, traceable data flows, and maintainable documentation
  • Build and optimize Tableau dashboards that surface core marketplace metrics, including revenue performance, bidder behavior, marketing effectiveness, merchandising performance (sell-through, bid velocity, category trends), partner health, and channel-level growth
  • Empower teams with reliable self-service analytics by delivering durable data marts and consistent, governed metric definitions
  • Communicate complex data insights in a clear, business-focused manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Lead the definition and standardization of core ecommerce and marketing KPIs (CAC, ROAS, funnel conversion, retention, LTV, channel performance, and churn risk), ensuring consistency across reporting systems
  • Build and maintain attribution-ready datasets that ensure consistent UTM governance, campaign alignment, and channel classification to support accurate performance measurement
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on attribution methodologies, conversion windows, and cross-platform reconciliation to ensure consistent and trusted performance reporting
  • Connect acquisition data to downstream revenue and lifetime value for full-funnel visibility
  • Collaborate with engineering on ingestion and integration across GA4, ad platforms, Klaviyo, Salesforce, NetSuite, and other core systems
  • Manage schema evolution and upstream source changes to ensure reporting stability
  • Strengthen transformation performance, improve reliability, and recommend architectural improvements where needed
  • Implement strong dbt testing and monitoring to ensure models are accurate, complete, and refreshed on schedule
  • Maintain clear documentation across dbt models, lineage, SQL standards, and a centralized marketing/ecommerce data dictionary
  • Eliminate reporting discrepancies and establish a trusted single source of truth

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3–6 years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data engineering within a high-growth DTC retailer, marketplace, or experiential commerce environment.
  • Proven ability to architect and scale robust data models that support ecommerce performance, customer analytics, and revenue optimization
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with demonstrated experience building scalable data models and transformation logic
  • Hands-on experience working with modern data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar)
  • Strong experience designing intuitive dashboards in Tableau (or similar BI tools such as Looker or Power BI)
  • Proven ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable business insights
  • Experience collaborating on ELT/ETL pipelines and data workflows using tools such as integrate.io, Airflow, Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with data ingestion pipelines, managing schema changes, and maintaining reliable data workflows
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce data structures, including orders, customers, products, fulfillment, refunds, promotions, and lifecycle behavior
  • Practical experience with marketing attribution concepts, including UTMs, event tracking, conversion windows, campaign mapping, channel taxonomy, and funnel-based attribution
  • Familiarity with SaaS business systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Klaviyo, or similar platforms
  • Experience integrating or modeling cross-platform data across CRM, financial, and marketing systems
  • Exposure to iPaaS tools and system integrations is a plus
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, with experience partnering with marketing, finance, product, sales, or operations teams
  • Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated problem-solving mindset and ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments
