Need a Cisco Network Engineer Level II (Project-Based) REMOTE Role.
Job Title: Level II Evening Technician (Project-Based)
Hours: 7:00 PM – 12:00 EST Midnight (Evenings)
Type: Contract / Project-Based
Location: Remote (with strong communication with on-site field technicians)
Overview:
We seek a highly skilled Level II Technician to support a technical operations team during evening hours. This is a project-based role focused on network infrastructure, requiring solid hands-on knowledge of Cisco topology—specifically Cisco 9300 switches—as well as familiarity with common rack-mounted hardware.
You’ll support multiple on-site field technicians, ensuring clean and professional communication, efficient troubleshooting, and well-documented close-out reports. This is a high-touch role where multitasking, clear English communication, and technical fluency are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide evening support from 7:00 PM to 12:00 EST Midnight for field technicians working on infrastructure projects.
• Use Microsoft Teams to communicate, coordinate, and manage multiple active support calls.
• Support and troubleshoot Cisco 9300 switches and associated topology.
• Guide field techs on proper installation, testing, and verification of rack-mounted equipment, including:
o CyberPower UPS units
o Patch panels and patch cables
o Fiber connectors and transceivers
• Manage multiple technicians calls simultaneously, prioritizing issues and ensuring resolutions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and reporting.
• Provide well-written, professional close-out notes and a summary of events at the end of each session or call.
Requirements:
• Strong working knowledge of Cisco network topology, especially Cisco Catalyst 9300 switches.
• Proficient in Microsoft Teams for real-time communication and collaboration.
• Experience working with rack-mounted equipment such as CyberPower UPS, patch panels, fiber optics, and structured cabling.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle multiple calls or tickets at once.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on documenting events and generating professional-level summaries.
• Understand the challenges and obstacles one may face when making Low-voltage cable runs within company infrastructures.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience supporting field techs in a remote or NOC environment.
• Familiarity with remote monitoring tools or switch configuration.
• Familiarity with the installation of Cisco switches
• Experience with low-voltage cabling and data centre operations.
Engagement terms:
· Location: Remote (with strong communication with on-site field technicians)
· Hourly rate on 1099: Open but competitive.
- Candidates should require having a Professional and general liability insurance that is typical of an independent contractor for 1099. It is quite cheap and easy to get this insurance.
- Duration: 12 months
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 12:00 EST Midnight (Evenings) {EST Time zone}
- M-F 25 hrs week

- Must pass standard background investigation & drug screening
