Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician (Class A+17:37) to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform complex equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and production start-up operations. This position requires an advanced understanding of manufacturing systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to train and mentor others.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical, Mechanical & PLC Systems

Perform major mechanical and electrical overhauls on all production and non-production equipment.

Access and monitor PLCs for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and minor program adjustments.

Calibrate electrical controls including hot runner systems, thermolators, and barrel heaters.

Diagnose and replace control boards, power supplies, servo drives, frequency drives, and amplifiers.

Adjust robot point programming and resolve robot-related issues to restore optimal operation.

Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, facility drawings, and electrical diagrams.
Utilities, Hydraulics & Pneumatics

Bring all utilities online for production start-up, including cooling towers, air compressors, and dryers.

Install, maintain, and repair all plant utilities—electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Remove, rebuild, and reinstall multistage hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, valves, and cylinders.

Troubleshoot and repair rod-less air cylinders, air regulators, and vacuum systems (lines, valves, and cups).

Adjust and synchronize multi-cylinder operations and sensors used in series circuits.

Repair and maintain high-pressure cylinders, check valve assemblies, and booster pumps for water jet cutting.
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform preventive maintenance (P.M.) work orders, including inspection, lubrication, and adjustments.

Troubleshoot and repair hot melt systems, ultrasonic welders, adhesive spray systems, and pneumatic screw guns.

Diagnose and repair KPM and Injection Mold Machines; repair motor starters, breakers, and related wiring.

Identify early warning signs of equipment issues (sounds, movement, performance) and take corrective action.

Conduct machine setup, leveling, anchoring, and utility connections for new installations.

Operate welding and cutting equipment (MIG, TIG, stick, acetylene torch) and overhead cranes safely.

Perform general maintenance tasks such as leak repairs, filter changes, cleaning, and lubrication.
Technical & Leadership

Use meters and amp clamps to check electrical circuits and verify voltage/current accuracy.

Change the rotation of 3-phase motors as needed.

Train and mentor other technicians on proper repair procedures and safety practices.

Generate and process work orders for required parts and documentation.
-
Perform group leader functions in their absence to support team operations.
Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Basic PLC troubleshooting experience (Siemens or Allen-Bradley preferred).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Proficient in robot troubleshooting and adjustments.

Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Must possess basic tools (screwdrivers, hammer, adjustable wrench, tool box).

Familiarity with metric measurements and torque specifications.

Safety-focused mindset and ability to work independently or in a team.
Preferred Experience:
-
Experience with injection molding machinery (KPM systems a plus).
-
Knowledge of servo drive tuning and frequency drive adjustments.
-
Background in industrial automation, Manufacturing 4.0, or smart factory systems.
Preferred Shifts:
-
2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm ($1.00 shift premium)
-
3rd Shift: 10:00pm-6:30am ($1.00 shift premium)
