Facilities/Machine Maintenance Manager ($100k - $130k)

Job Description

The Facilities/Machine Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational efficiency of the factory's building, grounds, all machinery and facility infrastructure for Pinnacle Sheet Metal. This role ensures that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally to support uninterrupted production and business activities. The manager will coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting issues, and implementing repairs promptly to minimize downtime. Additionally, this position involves managing maintenance budgets, sourcing parts and services, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Ultimately, the Facilities/Machine Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in sustaining a safe, reliable, and efficient working environment that supports the company’s operational goals.



Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all factory infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and compressed air systems.
  • Manage the upkeep of all production equipment, including CNC sheet metal and forming machinery, welding equipment, and material handling systems.
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure optimal equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating internal technicians and external contractors for timely repairs.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, asset history, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Safety and compliance:
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant safety standards, including OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate safety programs, including lockout/tagout procedures and hazardous material handling.
  • Lead and participate in the facility's safety committee, conducting regular inspections and emergency drills.
  • Oversee the management and disposal of all hazardous waste.
  • Investigate and report all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective actions.

Budget and vendor management:

  • Develop, manage, and control the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets for the facility.
  • Procure new equipment, manage contracts with service providers, and source parts and related supplies cost-effectively.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with external vendors for services such as janitorial work, landscaping, and specialized maintenance.
  • Obtain and review bids for large construction or acquisition projects.
  • Project management and strategic planning:
  • Oversee facility modifications, installations, and renovation projects from conception to completion.
  • Plan for and execute strategic initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and waste.
  • Forecast future infrastructure and equipment needs to support business growth.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives like Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Kaizen.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field or equivalent in work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial machinery maintenance or facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems used in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Facilities Management or Maintenance Management.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices in facility operations.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in PLCs and automated machinery.

To conform to U.S. Government regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
