Bankruptcy Associate | New York City
Our client, a highly regarded mid-size New York law firm, is seeking a junior-level Bankruptcy Associate with 1-2 years of experience to join its creditor-side bankruptcy practice.
This practice represents a sophisticated creditor client base, including secured creditors, indenture trustees, claims traders, landlords, asset acquirers, and other stakeholders in complex restructuring matters.
The Role
The associate will be actively involved in a broad range of bankruptcy and restructuring matters and can expect meaningful responsibility early on, including:
- Legal research and drafting
- Preparation of pleadings and related court filings
- Participation in discovery
- Attendance at court hearings and proceedings
- Direct exposure to substantive aspects of cases across the lifecycle of a matter
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited U.S. law school (preferably class of 2024 or 2025)
- Bankruptcy or restructuring experience preferred (including during law school or clerkships)
- New York Bar admission required or pending
- Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills
- Interest in creditor-focused bankruptcy work
Compensation
- 2026 base salary range: $195,000 – $205,000, commensurate with experience and credentials
