Make a meaningful impact in the lives of middle school students as a Multi-Language/English Language Learner Teacher in a supportive educational environment. This contract opportunity, starting as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year, offers the chance to foster language development and academic achievement for English language learners. With a three-day-per-week schedule totaling 21 hours, you’ll have the flexibility you need while building valuable relationships with both students and staff.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A valid Connecticut teaching certificate with TESOL or bilingual education endorsement
- Required education, preparation, and exam credentials aligned with state certification
- Experience working with diverse student populations, especially English language learners
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for supporting the academic and social success of middle school students
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging ELL instruction tailored to students’ language development needs
- Collaborating with educational staff to create inclusive lesson plans
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Maintaining accurate documentation according to school and state requirements
- Supporting a welcoming, respectful classroom environment for all learners
