Job Description
Job DescriptionJob Summary/Company: Our client is seeking a highly skilled technical professional responsible for the precision assembly, integration, and functional testing of complex electronic systems. This individual operates with minimal oversight to execute the technical build cycle, from initial board-level power-on to final system validation. They must possess a deep understanding of hardware-software integration and the discipline to maintain strict quality and regulatory protocols on a pilot production line. Due to federal government requirements, only US citizens can be considered for this role, and prior US military experience is desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Precision Assembly & Integration: Expert in level-3 mechanical and electrical integration, including the installation of flexible printed circuits (FPCs), high-density printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and ruggedized enclosures.
- System Power-On & Diagnostics: Independently validates hardware integrity using laboratory equipment to verify voltage rails, signal integrity, and basic component functionality prior to full-system testing.
- Functional Testing: Executes standardized test procedures to verify system performance, including network throughput, logic-based triggers, and environmental resilience.
- Device Provisioning: Performs sensitive firmware flashing and cryptographic initialization following established security and procedural protocols.
- Quality Adherence: Maintains meticulous records for serialized hardware tracking, ensuring every assembly step and test result is captured for the permanent build history.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- 5+ Years of hands-on experience in high-density electronics assembly, integration, and functional testing.
- Proven Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace or defense sectors.
- Advanced Tool Proficiency: Expert use of oscilloscopes, programmable DC power supplies, logic analyzers, and digital microscopes.
- Technical Rework: Skilled in precision soldering, component-level rework, and the repair of complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Software/Firmware Literacy: Competent in using command-line interface (CLI) tools and hardware debuggers for device configuration and troubleshooting.
