Customer Service Representative

Martin Agency is seeking a dependable, friendly, and motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position with the opportunity to develop into a licensed insurance professional and take on additional sales and service responsibilities over time.


Insurance experience is not required. We are looking for the right person and are willing to provide training and assist with obtaining the necessary insurance license.

Experience


Previous customer service, office, banking, retail, sales, or insurance experience can be helpful, but insurance experience is not required.


We place greater importance on attitude, dependability, communication skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to take care of customers.

Responsibilities

Initially, this position will focus heavily on helping our customers and supporting the day-to-day operation of the agency. Responsibilities will include:

Answering incoming phone calls and directing customers to the appropriate team member


Greeting and assisting customers who visit the office


Taking and processing customer payments


Assisting customers with billing questions and routine policy questions


Processing policy changes and service requests


Gathering information and documentation from customers


Communicating with insurance companies on behalf of customers


Following up on outstanding customer requests


Maintaining accurate customer and policy information in our agency management system


Supporting agents and other team members as needed


Helping ensure customers receive prompt, professional, and friendly service


Growth Into a Licensed Insurance Role


We want this position to develop into more than basic customer service.


After becoming familiar with our agency and successfully obtaining an insurance license, the employee will gradually take on additional responsibilities, including:


Responding to inbound insurance inquiries


Gathering information needed to prepare insurance quotes


Quoting personal insurance policies


Explaining coverage options to prospective customers


Following up with prospects


Helping customers select appropriate coverage


Writing new policies and completing the sales process


Identifying opportunities to provide additional insurance products to existing customers
