We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Engineering Technician to join our team and support both product development and engineering efforts.
Position Overview
The Engineering Technician will play a vital role in the design, development, testing, and support of new archery products and manufacturing processes. This role combines hands-on product testing with technical CAD, CNC, and prototyping responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in archery, mechanical aptitude, and experience with both shop tools and engineering technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support product development through testing and validation of new bows, components, and materials (durability, stiffness, cycle, dry fire, velocity).
- Create and maintain prototype parts using machining, molding, 3D printing, and composite techniques.
- Develop and maintain CAD/solid models and assembly configurations for new and revised parts.
- Write and run CNC programs to machine prototype and production parts.
- Perform proof-of-concept and functional testing to evaluate durability and performance of designs.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop product specifications, gather data, and assist with design refinements.
- Provide production support, including part fabrication, rework, and tooling repair.
- Document and maintain test results, deflection/tune tables, and standard work instructions.
- Support warranty, assembly, and manufacturing teams with technical problem-solving and training on new product setups.
- Maintain housekeeping, adhere to all safety policies, and work scheduled hours (including overtime as required).
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of bows and mechanics involved in archery systems.
- Ability to pull back a 70 lb, 30-inch draw bow multiple times daily for testing.
- Experience with light machining equipment (lathe, milling, drills) and shop tools.
- Basic CAD/solid modeling experience.
- Good math skills (through algebra/trigonometry).
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in small teams.
Preferred
- Associate’s degree or trade school in mechanical, manufacturing, or engineering technology.
- Experience with CNC programming and operation.
- Familiarity with composite part manufacturing and testing.
- Experience with noise and vibration measurement/analysis.
- Previous work in an R&D environment.
- Previous work in a manufacturing environment
- Archery shooting/setup experience.
