Job Description
Position Overview:
SFMS is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Custodial Manager to support our Custodial Manager, Freddy, in leading daily operations across multiple sites. This role will focus primarily on healthcare and educational facilities, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Support day-to-day custodial operations alongside the Custodial Manager

Supervise and coordinate custodial staff across multiple shifts and sites

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, especially in healthcare and school settings

Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks

Provide bilingual communication and leadership to a diverse team

Train, mentor, and motivate custodial staff to meet performance goals

Assist in scheduling, supply ordering, and inventory tracking

Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal leadership
Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish/English) required

Previous custodial supervisory experience in healthcare and/or school environments required

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends as needed

Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and relevant custodial safety protocols

Working Conditions
Generally, the employee will be working in both an office and outdoor environment. This position requires regular visits and meetings at worksites. In addition, the incumbent will travel to client (potential or current) sites as needed.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, lift, stoop and carry. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. The incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, close quarter situations, high and precarious places, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Furthermore, this role routinely uses heavy machinery/equipment such as power tools and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
