Position: Senior Project Manager – Healthcare IT Infrastructure (IT PMO Office)
Multiple Positions – Locations: Manhattan/Brooklyn, OR Mineola (Long Island) OR Patchogue (Long Island)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in IT infrastructure, healthcare construction, and low-voltage systems. This role oversees a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects across hospitals, ambulatory centers, and specialty care facilities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing structured cabling, IDFs/MDFs, clinical technology, and multi-vendor delivery teams while ensuring alignment with hospital operations, regulatory standards, and IT leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Healthcare Infrastructure & Construction Delivery
- Oversee a portfolio of infrastructure projects across hospitals, ambulatory centers, and clinical expansions, ensuring all initiatives meet Hospital standards.
- Manage low-voltage design, structured cabling, IDF/MDF rooms, network buildouts, A/V systems, clinical workstation rollout, and endpoint deployments.
- Serve as the primary liaison between hospital operations, IT leadership, vendors, and construction teams to align technology requirements with facility design and activation plans.
Project Management & Governance
- Lead planning, procurement, system design, testing, implementation, integration, activation, deployment, and transition to operations.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, work breakdown structures, charters, milestones, and risk plans.
- Provide continuous risk management, issue escalation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely resolution.
- Facilitate communication between internal IT teams (Networking, Security, Clinical Engineering, Applications, VoIP, Epic) to ensure readiness for go-lives and phased activations.
- Manage and track interdependent timelines, resource allocation, and executive reporting dashboards.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring requirements, design intent, and operational needs are clearly translated.
- Negotiate vendor contracts, monitor performance, and ensure all installation and service work meets technical and regulatory expectations.
- Oversee procurement, equipment logistics, delivery scheduling, and installation readiness across multiple job sites.
Regulatory, Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure alignment with HIPAA, Joint Commission, infection-control requirements, and internal hospital standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation including meeting notes, submittals, cutover plans, as-builts, testing results, and close-out packages.
Operational Support & Technical Leadership
- Direct and mentor technical staff and project managers assigned to the program.
- Continue strengthening governance, documentation, and quality standards across all projects.
- Evaluate new IT strategies, tools, workflows, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 7–10+ years of relevant IT project management experience, ideally in healthcare, hospital construction, or large-scale infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling, IDF/MDF buildouts, network installations, and low-voltage design.
- Expertise in managing enterprise-level, multi-site projects with complex interdependencies.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and project portfolio tools.
- Exceptional stakeholder communication and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
- PMP certification is strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Prior work in hospital construction, healthcare operations, clinical technology, or IT PMO environments.
- Experience representing IT in weekly construction meetings, design reviews, and activation planning sessions.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, Joint Commission, Infection Control).
