We are currently seeking a full-time Systems Administrator with a proven track record of success in the federal sector to work at the client site in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of advancing accessibility guidelines and standards, provide systems administration, support, and server maintenance..
- Managing and maintaining U.S Access Board (USAB) servers and printer server equipment, and ensuring proper lifecycle management, including addressing end-of-life management of equipment.
- Tracking the installation of server operating system licenses consistent with defined asset management practices.
- Documenting and maintaining standard configurations for all server operating systems and ensuring that all fielded server operating systems configurations remain consistent with the standard configurations.
- Coordinating all configuration changes via the defined Change Control Board (CCB) process.
- Monitoring server operating system version patches and upgrading releases, assessing the impacts of implementation, and, where appropriate, applying these releases by the defined Change Management (CM) process.
- Monitoring server operating system status indicators to identify failures and/or performance issues and performing necessary corrective actions as appropriate.
- Documenting relevant performance trends and recommending upgrades to improve performance, where appropriate.
- Ensuring that the server operating system security settings are configured according to the enterprise's security guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, access control, audit, and protocol settings.
- Monitoring server operating system security logs, identifying and assessing the nature of potential security violations, and responding to security incidents in accordance with defined security response procedures.
- Ensuring appropriate virus detection and response mechanisms are employed and maintained on all servers.
- Applying additional security tools, as appropriate, to ensure operating system security.
- Performing appropriate server operating system data backup and recovery actions to protect critical system data. The Contractor shall retain and monitor backup logs so that specified files can be restored to the appropriate server.
- Managing all backups in the cloud.
- Support for all Access Board’s cloud-based virtualization.
- Manage Microsoft Teams with a Voice Plan for up to 40 users, including installation, configuration, patching, and assigning telephone numbers as needed.
Provide Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID/Domain Structure administration support, including..
- Performing all Active Directory (AD), ID set-up, management, and changes.
- Performing management of all network structures, including forests, domains, organization units (OUs), and groups.
- Managing all trust relationships among network structures.
- Monitoring and managing the replication of objects among the various network structures.
- Managing and administering internal and external DNS services and devices.
- General health tracking of the Cloud DNS service, as well as other relevant native Cloud Provider services.
- Track USAB DNS logs and provision alerts based on zone performance metrics. Also, triage and troubleshoot USAB DNS issues.
- Coordinate changes and responses to new issues.
- Changes and updates addressing our website will be done in tandem with Cloud.gov Pages.
- Administering AD domains, organizational units, servers, shared files and folders, user accounts, printer queues, groups, and other AD services in use at Access Board.
- Documenting and maintaining the design and configuration of AD under the defined CM process.
- Monitoring AD security compliance, logs, identifying and ascertaining the nature of potential security violations, and responding to security violations per defined security response procedures.
- Applying additional security tools, as appropriate.
- Performing appropriate AD data backup and recovery actions to protect critical system data.

Manage and operate the Microsoft Office 365 E5 plan and all components, including Microsoft Office 365 Admin, Intune Admin, security and compliance administration, and Cloud environment in present and future configurations, including..
- Administering all software components of the remote access environment.
- Administering all hardware components of the remote access environment.
- Monitoring usage of the remote access environment to ensure sufficient capacity for the expected number of users during a disaster or a period of heavy utilization.
- Planning for appropriate software upgrades for the remote access environment as new releases become available.
- Administering the security for the remote access environment.
- Providing user information on the setup of remote access for home use or use with mobile platforms.
- Develop and maintain documentation in association with operations processes and Access Board inventory and infrastructure documentation.
- Document and maintain an inventory of all hardware.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with mid-level and senior-level roles as a System Administrator
- Experience system administration - Microsoft 365 platform, cloud infrastructure systems, cloud servers, Windows Server Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Purview Records Management, enterprise backup/restore, VMware center.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated work experience in VMWare, Azure, Windows, Linux, NetApp, Network printers, including the the Gabi device, Dragon Natural Speaking
- Experience providing monitoring, security management, and supporting remote access.
- Experience in setting up and maintaining GCP Cloud DNS, backup, and recovery services.
