Job Purpose:
As a Sales Arborist, you will play a crucial role in generating leads, creating a robust pipeline, and contributing to the overall growth of our company
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise crews on job sites as needed and promote a safe working environment by adhering to ISA Best Management Practices and OSHA/ANSI regulatory requirements
Essential Functions:
- Assess commercial and residential properties to identify opportunities around tree care and plant healthcare needs
- Actively develop existing relationships with our current book of business while seeking out new opportunities to gain market share
- Estimate time and cost for the crew to perform various aspects of tree care, such as tree pruning, removal, and related services
- Prepare and provide detailed proposals utilizing our software and sales process tools
- Follow up on bids, cost tracking, scheduling, and management of jobs
- Perform job briefings with crews to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction
- Together with the PHC team, develop and update annual plant healthcare programs
- Set quarterly and annual sales targets in collaboration with the leadership team and prepare to meet or exceed sales goals
- Supervise crews on job sites as needed and promote a safe working environment by adhering to ISA Best Management Practices and OSHA/ANSI regulatory requirements
- Perform duties related to the accounts receivable function to ensure timely customer payment
- Attend industry events to network and further your own education
Competencies:
- Must possess or be able to secure ISA Arborist Certification within 1 year of hire. (We will help you prepare and reimburse you for successful completion of the certification course)
- Proven track record of success in sales, preferably within the arboriculture or landscaping industry
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Computer proficient (Arborgold or other CRM/scheduling software experience a plus)
- Must have a Valid driver’s license
- Must possess regional plant and horticulture knowledge
- Must be knowledgeable and experienced with tree care, hazard tree evaluation, integrated pest management, and industry approved tree care practices
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates - Preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment
Travel Requirements:
- May require out of town travel
Required education and experience:
- Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred but not required
- One to Three (1-3) years of experience in the tree care industry and prior sales experience
- Sales and account management or leadership experience
