Litigation Legal Secretary
Downtown Houston | Hybrid Schedule (4 Days In Office / 1 Day Remote)
$80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus
A highly respected litigation-focused law firm in Downtown Houston is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join its team. This position is available due to an upcoming retirement, creating an excellent opportunity to join a stable, collaborative, and employee-focused firm known for its supportive culture and long-tenured staff.
In this role, you will provide administrative and litigation support to a team of attorneys and paralegals within a busy litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive litigation support to a team of attorneys and paralegals
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and court filings
- Coordinate and manage state and federal court e-filings
- Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other case-related events
- Assist with trial preparation, including creating and organizing trial notebooks, exhibits, witness files, and case materials
- Coordinate travel arrangements and logistical support as needed
- Manage case files and document organization in both electronic and physical formats
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Assist with billing-related administrative tasks and expense reporting
- Support attorneys with special projects and other administrative responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Legal Secretary experience within a litigation practice
- Strong litigation support experience from case inception through trial preparation
- Experience with state and federal court e-filing procedures
- Experience scheduling mediations, depositions, hearings, and court appearances
- Proven ability to prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and other trial materials
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent proofreading, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-service mindset
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
