Job Description Title Assistant Vice President, Contract Security Initiatives Department Security Authority: NYCT Division/Unit: Contract Security Initiatives Work Location: Various Hours Various Compensation: $161,351 - $201,689 Deadline (If Applicable): May 10th 2026Reporting Manager (If Applicable): Vice President Responsibilities This position oversees the daily operations of 750 contracted security guards assigned to 238 subway stations and key facilities, including the Fulton Center Security Command Center, the Operations Control Center, and the Bus Command Center. The incumbent directs NYCT Security inspection teams responsible for supervising guard deployments at emergency exit gates to deter fare evasion, as well as Quality‑of‑Life, anti‑graffiti, and anti‑train‑movement assignments at select locations. The role collaborates with NYCT departments, the NYPD, MTA Headquarters, and other law‑enforcement partners to ensure secure coverage of subway cars and trains in lay‑up areas. The incumbent reviews empirical data and conducts statistical analysis to identify trends that inform strategies to reduce fare evasion and enhance safety for customers and employees. The position works closely with Security’s contract management group to ensure full contract compliance and is responsible for special projects assigned by the Vice President of Security. These initiatives include the evaluation of permanent anti‑train‑movement and anti‑vandalism assignments, and the coordination of Security Awareness Day and internal recognition events. In addition, this position must respond to emergencies 24/7/365. Education and ExperienceA bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Security Management, Information Systems and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a security environment, including five (5) years in a managerial / supervisory capacity for or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience. Desired SkillsExperience working in security environment is preferred. Experience working in a high-pressure environment.Familiarity with local laws, NYCT rules, regulations and procedures. Knowledge in crime analysis. Experience in fare enforcement patterns and related trends. Selection MethodBased on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview. All selected candidates will be subject to a full background investigation that includes employment and education. Discrepancies may lead to dismissal.
