We are seeking an Project Engineer (onsite) for our Rahway, NJ jobsite.

The Role
The Project Engineer is responsible for key aspects of the project, related to setup, planning, progress and closeout.
Accountabilities
QA/QC Process
- Review QA/QC requirements of the project and generate applicable submittals and procedures.
- Lead install tracking utilizing the Stratus platform, provide updates on progress/weekly reports.
- Take the lead on all required testing documentation, prepare/submit to the client.
Labor Tracking
- Prepare construction and manpower schedules.
Assist Project Manager
- Review revised contract documents and work with Project Manager to assist in cost proposals as required.
- Review contract documents and extract pertinent information related to constructability.
- Review contract requirements and complete essential project set-up reports and submittals.
- Create and distribute Requests for Information (RFIs) required to proceed with the construction and design activities.
- Review and generate engineer submittals for review by design team and owner.
Field Inspection
- Manage expediting chart and tracking key outstanding items and delivery dates.
Information Flow
- Create and update equipment logs and populate with necessary date and information.
- Create key scopes of work for miscellaneous subcontracts and field purchased items.
Qualifications:
Skills
- An understanding and broad knowledge of Plumbing, HVAC and Process systems for commercial and institutional construction, including hospitals, schools, R&D facilities and multi-story buildings is preferred.
- Strong computer and technology skills including Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and Navisworks.
- Ability to prioritize, set goals and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to read or learn to read architectural, structural and mechanical plan and be familiar with a variety of plumbing, HVAC and Process systems and terminology
- Demonstrate strong math aptitude, organization, verbal, written and analytical skills
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Plumbing and Mechanical theory and code to identify issues with the designs or conflicts with other trades
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Experience in commercial plumbing, process and HVAC projects preferred.
- Must be comfortable working with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
Physical Requirements
- Physical activity not limited to climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, lifting<50 lbs, sitting and walking.
