Summary
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and flexible Substitute Daycare Teacher to join our team and provide quality care and learning experiences for children ages 6 weeks and up. The substitute will fill in during staff absences, supporting classroom routines and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
- Follow established lesson plans or daily schedules provided by the lead teacher or director
- Assist with or lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Communicate effectively and professionally with children, staff, and parents
- Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and health/safety procedures
- Provide support with meals, diapering, toileting, and other daily routines
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Report any incidents, concerns, or observations to the appropriate staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting preferred but not required
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements
- Flexibility to work on short notice or varying shifts
