Job Title: Maintenance Lead
Job Description
The Maintenance Lead performs preventive maintenance in a painting facility and takes ownership of troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems. This role ensures equipment runs reliably, responds quickly to breakdowns, and supports continuous operations by applying strong technical skills and sound critical thinking.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems within the painting facility to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including components related to hydraulics and other facility equipment.
- Apply a multi-skilled approach to investigate, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and welding systems.
- React to equipment breakdowns with a strong sense of urgency to maintain continuous operations and eliminate unplanned downtime.
- Use a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and equipment service manuals to guide maintenance and repair work.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs accurately to support ongoing reliability and future troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and support production needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and recommend preventive or corrective actions.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance in an industrial or facility environment.
- Strong mechanical skills, including the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and components.
- Working knowledge of facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment technical schematics, and service manuals.
- Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to solve complex equipment problems.
- Ability to use and maintain a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to react to equipment breakdowns with urgency and maintain continuous operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a painting or similar production facility environment.
- Experience in hydraulics and related systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks based on production needs and equipment criticality.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with production and other maintenance team members.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to facility procedures and standards.

Work Environment

The Maintenance Lead works hands-on with facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and hydraulics, using a wide range of hand and power tools. The environment involves working around production equipment and requires attention to safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment. Work hours follow a regular schedule, with overtime available on a voluntary basis at time-and-a-half pay, allowing flexibility for additional hours when desired.

This is a Permanent position based out of Manitowoc, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
5 days paid vacation to start, also more after 90 day Insurance: after 90 days (insurance company requirement) can enroll in medical, dental, vision including spouse and children 401K: can enroll after one year – company matches No mandatory OT unless he would like some – time and ½ pay
