Position Location: FBI J. Edgar Hoover Headquarters Building, Washington, D.C.
Preferred Certifications: Crestron Technicial Institute (CTI) P101, P201, and P301
Security Clearance: Top Secret security clearance with the ability to successfully complete an FBI Counterintelligence Polygraph Examination.
US Citizenship Required: Yes, and must possess a Real ID or active Passport
Summary/Objective
The Senior Software Developer position will be assigned as a member of a five-person Crestron Technical Institute (Crestron) related Audio Video Team to support the FBI’s Communication Services Unit at FBIHQ. The selected candidate will be responsible for day-to-day programming tasks, testing, and troubleshooting, for Creston Audio Video systems, supporting various FBI Headquarters locations in the Washington, D.C. National Capital Region and to its nationwide FBI Field Offices and other nationwide FBI locations. The selected candidate for this position may be required to travel approximately 10% of the time within the Washington, DC, National Capital Region and also to FBI Field Offices nationwide. The selected candidate may also be required on occasion to work outside of standard business hours depending on the needs of the FBI. The ideal candidate must have exceptionally strong relationships across many stakeholders within a specific agency and possess a deep understanding of that agency’s decision makers, infrastructures, policies, and performance requirements. We are particularly interested in highly experienced individuals with relationships in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). We will consider applications from individuals with exceptionally strong contacts in other federal agencies.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develops codes, tests, and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software.
- Process a strong understanding of business applications as well as user, performance, quality, interface, and security requirement.
- Ability to work effectively with technical staff to understand problems with software and successfully resolve them.
- Resolve customer issues with software and the ability to successfully respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Assist in the development of software user manuals
- Ability to complete desktop design, testing, security lockdown implementation.
- Ability to apply integration with standard software packages, integration with automated patching and deployment technologies, documentation, and training to include automating application and configuration deployments and updates.
- Ability to function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
- Ability to develop, test, deploy and debug Crestron based AV programming using Crestron SIMPL, SIMPL+, VTPRO-E, and NVX environments.
- Ability to resolve customer issues with both software and hardware when necessary.
- Ability to understand customer needs, satisfying those needs while adhering to performance, quality, interface and security standards.
- Ability to work effectively with technical staff to understand problems with software and hardware and to resolve them.
- Ability to effectively respond to customer complaints and provides and applies methods of improvements or enhancements.
- Ability to assist in the development of technical reference manuals for end users.
- Ability to applies knowledge of the Crestron architecture across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Ability to lead major assignments when required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Clearance: Top Secret security clearance with the ability to successfully complete an FBI Counterintelligence Polygraph Examination
- Education: Highschool Diploma
- Minimum of eight years of experience supporting Video Teleconferencing Systems, with preferably five years of Crestron Technicial Institute Audio Video experience. Crestron Technicial Institute (CTI) P101, P201, and P301 Certifications may be substituted for the minimum years of experience
- Strong communication skills, to include experience working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation or another federal agency
