Community Caregiver (Part-Time | Casual)
Position Summary
Bethesda Sunrise Village is seeking a dedicated Community Caregiver to provide high-quality, resident-centered care in a supportive assisted living environment. This role focuses on promoting each resident’s independence, dignity, and overall well-being while maintaining a safe, comfortable, home-like atmosphere.
Schedule
This casual, part-time position includes:
- Picking up at least three shifts per month
- One weekend per month
- $1/hour shift differential for weekend shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Support medication reminders and delegated nursing tasks under RN/LPN supervision
- Monitor and document vital signs; report changes in residents’ conditions
- Assist with meals, light housekeeping, and activities of daily living
- Engage residents through meaningful activities and social interaction
- Maintain accurate documentation per organizational policies
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Graduate of a state-approved Nursing Assistant program and listed on the Minnesota registry, or completion of employer-provided caregiver training
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and observational skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home care preferred
Requirements
- Successful DHS background study (no disqualifications)
- TB screening clearance
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED preferred
