Job Description
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join their team! This position is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 17+, Node.js, and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Build and operate AWS Lambda–based services and integrate with cloud-native systems
- Develop and maintain internal admin tools using NestJS and Vue.js to support device configuration and portal management
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs and ensure reliable backend-to-frontend integrations
- Write clean, well-structured, and thoroughly tested code
- Document technical solutions and architectural decisions
- Participate in code reviews, story estimation, sprint ceremonies, and team demos
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
- Act as an independent contributor while collaborating effectively with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders
- Share concrete examples of previous work and technical contributions
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience, preferably in enterprise or production-scale environments
- Strong experience with Java 17+, Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript (fundamentals required)
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and cloud-based microservice architectures
- Proven experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale digital platforms
- Familiarity with NestJS, Vue.js, or comparable backend/frontend frameworks
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, RESTful API development, and data modeling
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions and outcomes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a team-first mindset
- Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL data stores
- Familiarity with IoT systems, messaging queues, or event-driven cloud architectures
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source or internal libraries

The approximate pay range for this position is between $49.00 and $70.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
