Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary – Bankruptcy & Commercial Litigation
An established Metro Detroit law firm is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant / Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys in bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters and will be detail-oriented, organized, and professional.
Responsibilities:

Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence

Maintain attorney calendars, schedule hearings, and coordinate meetings

Manage case files and electronic document systems

Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
-
Assist with trial preparation and e-filing in state and federal courts
-
Perform general administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary
-
Experience in bankruptcy and/or commercial litigation preferred
-
Strong knowledge of court procedures and filing systems (including ECF, MiFILE, and state e-filing portals)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management software

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Compensation:
-
Salary range: $55,000 to $75,000 per year, based on experience
