This Warehouse Worker role focuses on the safe and efficient movement, organization, and preparation of finished goods inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will handle product transfers between facilities, organize finished goods, pick and stage customer orders, and load outbound shipments with accuracy and care. The position also supports periodic inventory activities and plays a key role in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse that supports food safety standards. The regular schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move finished goods within and between facilities.
  • Pick and stage customer orders accurately according to pick lists or provided instructions.
  • Load outbound trucks carefully, ensuring pallets are secured, orders are complete, and products are handled safely.
  • Transfer finished goods from the manufacturing facility to the warehouse as needed.
  • Transfer packaging materials from a third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse as required.
  • Organize finished goods in the warehouse to maintain clear, logical, and efficient storage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of finished goods inventory, bins, staging areas, and dock areas.
  • Ensure debris, pallets, and materials are properly stored or disposed of in support of food safety and safety standards.
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks as part of daily workflow and help maintain clear and safe traffic lanes.
  • Support annual physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts to help maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate effectively with multiple departments to support order fulfillment and inventory activities.
  • Assist other departments or team members as requested by warehouse leadership.
  • Follow established procedures related to FIFO (First In, First Out) and food safety handling, as applicable.
  • Use basic computer systems, including ERP/WMS tools, to support order processing and inventory tracking.

Essential Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in a warehouse, inventory, or receiving role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks; certification is preferred or a strong willingness to obtain it.
  • Demonstrated experience with packing, material handling, order picking, and general warehouse labor.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks and related material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills to ensure accurate order picking and inventory handling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment.
  • Basic computer skills to support tasks such as order entry, inventory updates, and system lookups.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments and team members.
  • Understanding of FIFO (First In, First Out) practices, inventory accuracy, and food safety handling (preferred but strongly valued).
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods in a warehouse setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is strongly preferred; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or food handling environment is a plus.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.
  • Experience using RF scanners for picking, packing, or inventory tasks.
  • Background in production, picking, packaging, and unloading activities in a warehouse setting.
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Willingness to support periodic physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • Comfort working around moving mechanical equipment such as delivery trucks, pallet jacks, and warehouse machinery.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment that supports a food manufacturing operation. The standard schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. You will work around moving mechanical equipment such as delivery trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery. The physical demands include continually standing, walking, and frequently using hand and finger dexterity, with occasional climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, or kneeling. You will frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The work environment can include exposure to extreme heat or cold, dust, airborne particles, hazardous materials, and a risk of electrical shock, consistent with a typical warehouse setting. The noise level ranges from moderate to loud. Specific vision abilities are important, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role requires standard warehouse attire appropriate for working around moving equipment and supporting food safety and workplace safety standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Petaluma, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.20/hr.
