Bring your passion for teaching and specialized expertise to a high school contract opportunity for the 26/27 school year. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the growth and success of students with diverse learning needs in a cross-categorical environment. With a manageable caseload of approximately seven students, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact both academically and in the development of mild self-regulation skills.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience with cross-categorical special education in a high school setting preferred
- Strong skills in academic intervention and adapting curriculum to meet individual needs
- Understanding of mild behavioral and self-regulation strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, in a contract capacity
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s academic and behavioral needs
- Provide direct instruction and support in core academic areas, adapting lessons as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and growth
- Work closely with related service providers, families, and other educators to coordinate supports
- Track student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Support students in building self-regulation and independent learning skills
