Job DescriptionLHH is excited to partner with a highly respected Chicago law firm that is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a dynamic team of commercial litigators. Responsibilities :
- Provide administrative and executive support to 3-4 attorneys in a commercial litigation practice.
- Draft and prepare legal documents including complaints, discovery materials, subpoenas, summonses, notices, motions, affidavits, and related filings.
- Handle electronic filing in Federal and Circuit Courts, including surrounding collar counties.
- Coordinate process servers, court reporters, and related litigation support services.
- Transcribe and prepare briefs and correspondence using electronic dictation tools.
- Review and route incoming emails and correspondence, responding to scheduling, billing, or administrative matters as needed.
- Create, organize, and maintain attorney files and legal records.
- Manage new matter openings and prepare engagement letters.
- Maintain calendars, deadlines, and court dates using Microsoft Outlook.
- Assist with additional administrative duties as required.
Technical Skills :
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word 365 (including styles), Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Odyssey and CM/ECF e-filing systems
- Familiarity with NetDocuments and Workshare Compare for document management and redlining
- Ability to edit and manipulate PDFs, including adding or removing pages, modifying text, and converting between PDF and Word
- Proficiency with time-entry and billing systems such as E55
- Experience using transcription software such as Winscribe
- Ability to use scheduling and collaboration tools such as Calendly, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
- Comfortable operating office equipment including scanners, fax machines, and copiers
- Typing speed of 70-80 WPM with strong accuracy.
Preference for candidates with experience:
- 5+ years of legal assistant/secretarial experience in commercial litigation.
- Proficiency with:
- Odyssey and CM/ECF e-filing systems
- County clerk websites (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Will)
- Judges' standing orders and local rules
- Court websites for retrieving forms and rules
- Document management systems (NetDocuments preferred)
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $65K and $75K.

Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
