Job Description

We are recruiting an Experienced Legal Assistant for a small and dynamic law firm in Los Angeles specializing in class action lawsuits. The firm provides exceptional legal representation and is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive team member who takes ownership of their work and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Position Summary

The Legal Assistant will support a small team of attorneys and a paralegal with a wide range of legal, administrative, and operational tasks. This is a hands-on role that is essential to keeping cases moving and the office running smoothly. For the right candidate, there is a clear path toward growth into a Paralegal role based on performance.


What You Get to Do

  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Calendar court appearances, depositions, meetings, and deadlines
  • Prepare, format, and file documents with state and federal courts
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including review, sorting, and distribution
  • Provide general administrative and operational support, including vendor coordination, phone management, and office needs
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality and professionalism at all times


What We Expect From You

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal or legal secretary
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and familiarity with state and federal court procedures
  • Experience with electronic court filings and filing requirements for briefs
  • Experience calendaring court appearances and legal deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail

Desired:

  • Paralegal certificate or certification in progress or planned
  • Experience in a litigation or class action environment
  • Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
  • Bachelor's degree
