Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home Companion Aide to provide non-medical support to individuals in the comfort of their homes. This role involves offering companionship, assistance with daily living activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients. The ideal candidate will be someone who is empathetic, patient, and enjoys building meaningful relationships with elderly, disabled, or ill clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Companionship: Engage in friendly conversation, provide emotional support, and ensure the client feels safe, respected, and valued.
- Household Assistance:
- Light housekeeping (e.g., tidying up, laundry, vacuuming, washing dishes).
- Help with errands such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and other necessary tasks.
- Monitoring and Safety:
- Observe changes in the clients physical or emotional condition and report to the family or supervisor as necessary.
- Ensure a safe living environment by identifying hazards and helping with fall prevention.
- Encouragement: Motivate clients to participate in hobbies, exercise, or activities that promote mental and physical well-being.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or companion services is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be patient, understanding, and reliable.
- Capable of following instructions and adhering to care plans.
- Basic knowledge of elder care, first aid, or CPR is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to assist clients with mobility, perform light housekeeping, and handle occasional physical tasks.
- Background Check: Agency Provide: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening as required by agency or state regulations.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in the clients home, which may include private residences, apartments, or senior living facilities.
- Some roles may involve travel between multiple clients' homes.
