GENERAL PURPOSE: Maintenance and upkeep of the Souris Valley Golf Course grounds. This is a seasonal position with an anticipated duration of April – October though potential for extension may exist.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

  • Operate various mowing equipment (e.g., greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers) safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and prepare sand traps (e.g., raking, edging).
  • Maintain and repair ball marks, divots, and other turf damage.
  • Water greens, fairways, and other landscaped areas using irrigation systems and hoses.
  • Assist with the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf treatments (under supervision).
  • Remove debris, leaves, and other obstructions from the course.
  • Maintain flower beds, shrubbery, and other landscaped areas.
  • Assist with the course setup for daily play, including setting up tee markers, flags, and ropes.
  • Perform general grounds maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of golf course maintenance practices is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 1
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in and around the golf course facilities.
  • Equipment operation.
  • Lifting objects up to 50 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wage: $10 - $15 (depending on experience)
  • $50 Seasonal Golf Pass
