KYO Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support embedded controls development for Thermo Fisher Scientific's laboratory cold-storage and ultra-low temperature product portfolio.
\n
\n
This position is well suited for an early-career electrical engineer with hands-on embedded hardware, firmware, circuit-design, and product-development experience.
\n
\n
Responsibilities
\n
\n
- Design embedded control electronics and PCB assemblies
\n
- Develop schematics, design analysis, bills of material, and engineering documentation
\n
- Develop embedded firmware and controller software
\n
- Support C/C++-based embedded development
\n
- Develop HMI functionality using embedded software frameworks
\n
- Develop qualification and performance-test methods
\n
- Conduct prototype testing and analyze engineering test results
\n
- Support analog, digital, mixed-signal, and high-speed circuit development
\n
- Collaborate with mechanical and refrigeration engineering teams
\n
- Support formal design reviews
\n
- Participate in FMEA, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Test activities
\n
- Work with contract manufacturers
\n
- Maintain requirements and design documentation
\n
- Support compliance with UL, IEC, FDA, and similar product requirements
\n
\n
Qualifications
\n
\n
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
\n
- 0-2+ years of relevant embedded-controls or electronic-product-development experience
\n
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design
\n
- C/C++ programming experience
\n
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded hardware
\n
- Experience with prototyping and hardware testing
\n
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
\n
\n
Preferred Experience
\n
\n
- PCB design and layout
\n
- PADS or similar PCB-design tools
\n
- USB, Ethernet, LVDS, mixed-signal, or high-speed circuit design
\n
- Python and JavaScript
\n
- Qt framework
\n
- Jira, Git, and Confluence
\n
- IEC 60601 or other electrical-safety standards
\n
- Electromechanical product development
\n
\n
Military developmental engineering and technical electronics experience may be considered where applicable.
