The Hotel Preventative Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the hotel property. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are well maintained and in excellent working condition. The Maintenance Engineer supports exceptional guest experiences by responding promptly to maintenance requests and performing preventative maintenance.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical spaces
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest service requests
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules
  • Repair drywall, paint, flooring, doors, locks, and basic carpentry items
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and brand standards
  • Conduct regular property inspections and document findings
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory
  • Assist with renovations and special projects as assigned
  • Support emergency response procedures (fire alarms, water leaks, power outages, etc.)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical or trade certification preferred
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience (hotel or commercial property preferred)
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work night, weekends and holidays
