Position Overview
The Facility Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities. This role requires hands-on technical ability, strong communication skills in English, and basic computer proficiency to manage work orders and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general facility maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and mechanical work
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance issues and safety concerns
- Respond promptly to service requests and maintenance tickets
- Troubleshoot equipment and building systems and recommend solutions
- Maintain accurate records of work performed using computer-based systems
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients in English
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and repair costs
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related technical role
- Strong general facility technician skills (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or building maintenance)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly and professionally
- Basic computer skills, including email, work order systems, and digital documentation
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certifications or vocational training
- Experience working in commercial or multi-site facilities
- Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to (insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs)
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
