This role will cover Cincinnati, Louisville, St. Louis, Nashville and surrounding areas. If not living in these areas, travel may be greater than for someone local to one of those cities.
Summary:
Imagine a world without color…We can't either! Uniform Color has an exciting line of both color and additive masterbatch technologies, and we are looking for an innovative minded individual that can build relationships and implement our color and additive masterbatch solutions throughout the value chain (converters through OEMs). This position is a technical liaison between the customer and internal team, communicating customer requirements, managing project prioritization, and facilitating the timely response to customers. The position is field based and has unlimited professional and compensation opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gain specific market knowledge and drive sales expansion efforts within those markets.
- Provide key technical account management support to develop business and meet growth goals.
- Provide solutions to problems at key accounts/molders/new potential clients.
- Develop key relationships at OEMs, Brand Owners, and Processors in targeted market segments.
- Maintain healthy pipeline growth to guarantee sales growth of year over year.
- Provide international development and support for global expansion efforts.
- Manage projects, working both internally and externally to communicate updates, run trials and keep updated on future work.
Preferred Experience, Training, and Skills:
- 3 - 7 years' experience in plastic materials, part/mold design and processing, preferably polyolefin.
- Thorough understanding of a range of converting processes, resins, additives, and pigments.
- Technical project management skills.
- Must be able to travel to customer and Uniform Color sites.
- Skilled in the use of basic computer software, including word-processing and spreadsheets.
- Strong communication skills (written/verbal) including presentation to groups.
- Must have experience interfacing with customers.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Proven record of targeting corporate accounts and managing relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in non-Automotive applications is a plus (Rigid Packaging, Building & Construction, and/or Consumer Products)
Physical Requirements: Travel expectation for successful Market Development Engineers is >50%.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering, or equivalent; MBA preferred.
Compensation: Mix of base salary and commission for newly commercialized business.
