We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to support a dynamic civil litigation practice in Denver, Colorado. This Contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex legal matters while collaborating with attorneys and clients in a fast-paced environment. On site 5 days a week Downtown.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and file documents electronically;
- Prepare motion and discovery shells, motion filing;
- Expert coordination for depositions and trials;
- Assist with preparation of trial/mediation/arbitration documents;
· Interface professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court clerks;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
- Excellent technology skills;
- Process payment requests and coordinates the client billing process;
- Maintain client files and contact information;
- Schedule meetings, conference calls, depositions, court hearings, and travel arrangements;
- Outlook/LSS calendaring, and iManage document management program experience is highly preferred;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
- Well-developed skills in editing, proofreading, and grammar;
- Ability to anticipate problems, find solutions, and prioritize work accordingly;
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills;
- Effectively manage a high-volume workload with critical deadlines;
- Ability to exercise a high degree of personal integrity, confidentiality, tact, discretion, and judgment;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel);
- Knowledge of manipulation and editing of PDF documents using Acrobat Adobe;
- Ability to work overtime as necessary;
- Ability to do billable hours, preferred;
- Other administrative tasks, as assigned, and;
- Complex defense litigation experience is highly preferred.
• Minimum of three years of legal assistant or paralegal experience, preferably in civil litigation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Familiarity with e-filing systems and billing software used in legal practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on professionalism and clarity.
• Excellent organizational abilities, including time management and prioritization of tasks under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat for document manipulation and editing.
• Ability to work independently, anticipate challenges, and develop effective solutions.
• A high degree of integrity, tact, and judgment in handling sensitive legal matters.
