REM Staffing is hiring Shredder Laborers in the Harrisburg, PA area!
Are you looking for a physical, hands-on job where you can stay active throughout the day? REM Staffing is hiring dependable Shredder Laborers to work at a recycling facility in the Harrisburg area.
This is an outdoor industrial position. Employees must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold.
Available Shifts
1st Shift – $17/hour
- Monday–Friday
- Available Shifts: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM or 7:00 AM-7:00PM
- Occasional Saturday morning hours may be required
Job Duties
- Sort plastic, cardboard, and other materials from a conveyor belt.
- Remove non-compliant materials before they enter the shredder.
- Shovel, sweep, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Assist with general equipment cleanup and preventative maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Communicate with coworkers and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to walk and work on rough or uneven terrain.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
Required PPE includes:
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Ear plugs
- Safety vest
- Work gloves — provided
- Steel-toe boots — employee must provide
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, construction, recycling, manufacturing, or other physically demanding work is a plus.
- Construction, flagging, or traffic control experience is a plus.
- Must be dependable and able to work as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to follow safety procedures and work instructions.

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
