Job Description
OVERVIEW
This is a full-time, in-person position for someone who wants more than just a labor job. At Rein Dance Equestrian, you'll be a core part of a small, dedicated team responsible for the daily care of horses and the ongoing maintenance of a 160-acre private dressage facility. We're looking for someone with real experience around horses — who brings exceptional attention to detail and genuinely takes ownership of their work. This is a long-term role, not a revolving door position. We value collaboration, communication, and people who want to build something together. If that's how you already work, this will feel like home.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Your primary focus is keeping the horses safe, healthy, and comfortable — and the facility clean, organized, and well-maintained. Day to day, that means:
- Participating in the continual process of cleaning and organizing the barn and grounds
- Mucking stalls and paddocks
- Feeding and watering horses and filling hay nets
- Turning horses in and out safely and consistently
- Monitoring horses for signs of injury, illness, or changes in behavior and communicating what you see
- Assisting with landscaping
It's hands-on, physical work — and when it's done right, the horses are calmer, healthier, and more comfortable, and the whole facility runs better.
WHO YOU ARE
We're looking for someone with 3–5+ years of barn and horse handling experience who understands safe horse handling as second nature.
You're physically capable — able to lift 50+ pounds without assistance — and comfortable working outdoors in all four seasons.
You show up on time, follow through on what you say, and take pride in leaving a stall, paddock, or project better than you found it.
You enjoy working alongside other people and talking through the day's work — this is not an isolated, independent role.
A valid driver's license is required, and you should be willing to learn to operate a tractor and small farm machinery.
The ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
We know you're working to support yourself and your family, and we take that seriously.
- Salary: $58,000–$65,000 per year, dependent on experience
- End-of-year bonus opportunities
- Weekly pay by check — no waiting for payday
- Double-time pay on major holidays
- Additional compensation negotiable for sharing night check duties
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday plus Sunday (Saturday off)
- 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m with a one-hour on-site lunch break
Work location: Delano, Minnesota
