Job DescriptionGCA is seeking a full-time Senior Lead Network Engineer to provide technical leadership on major network initiatives and infrastructure projects. This role will establish goals and plans to meet project objectives, direct and control network engineering activities, and ensure technical requirements are met across the enterprise. The Senior Lead Network Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of wide-area networks (WAN), local-area networks (LAN), communications systems, and enterprise connectivity solutions.

This position requires both deep technical expertise and proven leadership ability, including supervisory responsibilities over technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on major network tasks and enterprise technology assignments.
  • Direct and oversee network engineering activities, including financial management, staffing, and technical execution.
  • Plan, design, and implement enterprise WAN, LAN, and communications infrastructure.
  • Work with stakeholders to assess and define voice, data, and video communications requirements.
  • Conduct system-level assessments of communications systems for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Research and evaluate emerging network technologies, protocols, and applications for integration into the enterprise environment.
  • Provide seamless, secure connectivity across all enterprise endpoints.
  • Plan, acquire, configure, and operate network equipment, firewalls, and internet access solutions.
  • Analyze interoperability, integration, and deployment issues; optimize topology and site configurations.
  • Use network design tools and techniques to develop efficient and secure network architectures.
  • Design and support solutions for e-commerce and electronic data interchange (EDI) functions.
  • Perform modeling and analysis at multiple protocol layers; develop and prototype advanced communications systems.
  • Recommend procurement, upgrades, or decommissioning of network components based on performance analysis.
  • Supervise and mentor other technical staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • 1215 years of professional experience in network engineering or related technical fields.
  • Minimum of 35 years in a leadership role with responsibility for technical direction, staffing, and execution.
  • Base-level certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Security+, or Network+).
  • Core certification in networking, such as:
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
    • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Proven expertise in WAN/LAN design, network security, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, communications protocols, and enterprise connectivity solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead teams, and deliver results in complex technical environments.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
