The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is accepting applications for part-time security personnel to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for its visitors and pilgrims. The position is responsible for monitoring assigned areas with vigilance to ensure a peaceful and prayerful experience throughout the Basilica. Security officers will enforce Shrine policies and procedures related to visitor conduct, identify and address obstacles, and provide courteous responses to inquiries. Experience in security, safety, or customer-facing roles, as well as familiarity with the Catholic faith tradition, is preferred but not essential. The position schedule is flexible. A six-hour shift is standard. Work on weekends and holidays is expected as the National Shrine is open 365 days per year. The National Shrine offers vacation, sick leave, and a 403(b) plan to eligible part-time security staff. Multiple positions are currently available.
