TrueNorth is seeking a Paralegal with insurance industry experience to join our team in either Cedar Rapids, IA or West Des Moines, IA. This role provides high quality support to TrueNorth Companies, L.C.’s internal and external stakeholders by serving as an administrative and legal resource within the Legal Department. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, detail oriented, and enjoys digging into information to find accurate, complete answers. Essential Job Functions:
- Complete and manage company and producer appointments with insurance carriers and related markets, including coordinating contracts, tracking status, and escalating appointment‑related issues as needed
- Maintain accurate, current records of insurance carrier agency codes, appointments, and key contacts relied upon by internal teams
- Manage producer and staff access to carrier websites for appointment, quoting, and servicing needs; troubleshoot access issues directly with carriers
- Process, organize, and maintain contracts, carrier documentation, and corporate records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Complete client‑related and internal legal paperwork in a timely manner in accordance with company standards, with minimal oversight
- Provide legal and operational support for mergers and acquisitions activities, as assigned
- Maintain and follow documented procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Support corporate and Legal Department needs by delivering high‑quality internal service and building trusted working relationships with leaders
- Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor
Credentials:
- High School diploma or GED required, two or four-year degree preferred.
- Insurance experience strongly preferred.
- Paralegal experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions.
