If so, you’ll thrive in our shop, reporting directly to the Service Manager and serving as a key resource for inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on mobile and lattice cranes.
What you’ll tackle
- Operate and inspect cranes to identify defects and performance issues.
- Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems on mobile hydraulic and lattice machines.
- Use micrometers and gauges to evaluate wear; interpret manuals, blueprints, parts lists, and technical drawings.
- Perform post-repair testing of mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic systems to verify OEM compliance.
- Stage jobs by validating parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Execute detailed annual inspections.
- Accurately complete work reports, time sheets, hours overviews, and expense reports.
- Operate independently and deliver top-tier customer service.
- Handle other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; two (2) years as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Grove, Manitowoc, and National platforms preferred.
- Fluent in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Clear communicator with a customer-focused approach.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record preferred.
- Comfort with basic computer tasks preferred.
- Own a complete set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

Schedule and environment
- Full-time schedule: typically 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; overtime and weekends may be required by business conditions.
- Shop setting with exposure to extreme temperatures, weather, dust, dirt, fumes, smoke, odors, and high noise levels.
- Physical elements include occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; frequent lifting/moving up to 40 pounds; and visual demands such as close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
