Job Overview:

The County of Sacramento's Department of Technology (DTech) is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal database performance, security, and reliability while supporting business users and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and manage SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

Create SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports based on end-user specifications.

Perform database backups, recovery, and performance tuning to optimize system functionality.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, providing support to business users.

Implement and manage database encryption technologies, including TDE and TLS.

Document and enforce database standards, procedures, and security policies.

Collaborate with development teams to apply best practices in database management and integration.

Stay updated on new database technologies and techniques, recommending and implementing improvements when needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

Expertise in SQL Server DBA, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.

Advanced experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) designing and developing reports.

Strong experience with Data Replication design, configuration, implementation, and monitoring.

Proficiency in SQL scripting and query optimization for high-volume data operations.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues independently.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Strong teamwork and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with automation tools and database monitoring solutions.

Knowledge of DevOps practices in database management.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:
