Fifth Season Gardening Store General Manager (GM) is the team leader in all aspects of daily store operations including cash management, expense control, inventory management, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. Leads and develops team members. All Fifth Season Gardening jobs prioritize customer, vendor and employee service by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers, vendors, and team members. All positions must be performed in accordance with the team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Team Members must be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other Team Member job accountabilities. All positions must strive to support Fifth Season core values and goals, promote local store initiatives, and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Models and delivers outstanding customer service
• Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution to fuel store growth
• Works as Team Leader to deliver cost, margin, expense, and labor targets
• Effectively manages inventory controls
• Implements store merchandising requirements
• Oversees & delegates plant management and ordering
• Follows through on all customer questions and requests; resolves concerns as needed
• Proactively resolves team and performance concerns or issues
• Direct liaison with ownership team, supply-chain, vendors (as needed) and cross-store management colleagues
• Fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
• Trains, develops and mentors Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and reduces labor turnover

• Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate
• Proficiency with Google Workspace
Experience:
• 4+ years retail Team Member experience and 2+ years of supervisory/managerial experience.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric and hand-crank pallet jacks
