HTI is partnering with a leading automotive manufacturer in Piedmont, SC to hire a Plant Reliability Technician. You’ll be trusted to keep production machinery, facility infrastructure, and utilities in top condition—on the shifts where reliability matters most.

Where and when

  • Location: Piedmont, SC
  • Shifts: 2nd or 3rd
  • Pay: up to $32.38/hour (DOE) + $2.00/hour off-shift differential

  • Do you read mechanical and electrical drawings and instantly see the fix?
  • Can you overhaul a hydraulic circuit, chase down a pneumatic leak, and get the line back up?
  • Are you comfortable jumping from VFD diagnostics to servo motor repairs?
  • Will you mentor others while keeping 5S standards rock solid?

Your impact

  • Interpret prints to isolate faults and restore equipment quickly
  • Repair/modify hydraulic and pneumatic systems; replace bearings, bushings, and slides
  • Troubleshoot pumps and motors; service air compressors, chillers, evaporators, and coolant systems
  • Repair servo amplifiers and motors with minimal assistance
  • Weld (MIG/TIG/stick) for repairs/improvements; fabricate with shear, brake, saws, drills
  • Use PLC ladder logic to identify faults and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain CNC turning centers and grinders, including performing machine backups
  • Diagnose and service VFDs and motors
  • Analyze machine performance after rebuilds/refurbs; fine-tune as needed
  • Order parts and manage schedules with little supervision
  • Apply 5S across maintenance and facility areas; coordinate spare parts with rebuild shops
  • Train teammates; support project crews and facilities

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (two-year college/technical school) preferred; OR 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience without a degree
  • Advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and strong fabrication abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to train and assist others

Technical toolkit

  • Mechanical troubleshooting; mechanical systems & component repair
  • Industrial electrical experience: installation, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Comfort with 120/208/240/480V power
  • Pneumatics troubleshooting; hydraulic systems & components
  • Electrical schematics reading; electrical panel installation
  • Equipment diagnostics & troubleshooting; equipment repair & maintenance
  • Electrical systems & diagnostics for heavy equipment
  • Automotive manufacturing systems familiarity

Tech you’ll handle

  • CNC automation solutions (Fanuc)
  • Multimeters
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
  • PLCs: Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens
  • HMIs and conveyor systems
  • Servo motors
