We are seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our office.
We are a landlord-tenant law firm with a strong reputation for its legal expertise and long history of success in one of the most complex areas of California law.
This is a client-facing role where you will be the first point of contact for property owners navigating layered, often counterintuitive regulations that frequently surprise even experienced landlords. Your job is to help them understand their situation clearly, gather what we need to move their case forward, and keep them informed throughout. That includes delivering complicated, sometimes unwelcome information with confidence and professionalism — and doing it in a way that reflects the standards of our firm.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake interviews with new clients and build case files in our case management software
- Follow up with clients and management companies to collect information and keep matters moving
- Draft and review routine notices, legal documents, and correspondence
- Communicate case updates by phone and email, including complex or sensitive information
- Support the team with administrative and operational tasks as needed
What we're looking for:
- A composed, confident communicator who handles difficult conversations without hesitation
- Someone who takes initiative and stays ahead of open items without waiting to be directed
- Experience in a client-facing, fast-moving environment
- Prior legal experience is a plus, but the right instincts and work ethic matter most
