NewSat North America is seeking a cleared Lead Software Integration Engineer to support the U.S. Space Force’s Rapid Resilient Command and Control (R2C2) program under the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO). This mission-critical role involves integrating cloud-based applications into a next-generation satellite operations ground system to enable dynamic space operations (DSO). The system architecture leverages AWS GovCloud, secure data flows, and modern DevSecOps practices.
This is a high-impact opportunity for candidates with deep integration experience in secure cloud environments, particularly supporting classified space or defense missions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead end-to-end integration of cloud-native software applications within the AWS GovCloud environment.
· Utilize established CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployment.
· Interface with government, prime, and subcontractor development teams to synchronize software releases and integration timelines.
· Support containerization and orchestration efforts using Docker and Kubernetes.
· Identify, diagnose, and resolve software integration and system interoperability issues.
· Manage Jira-based issue tracking and backlog grooming.
· Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation including ICDs, software versioning documents, and user manuals.
· Author and execute detailed test plans across all phases of integration.
· Represent NewSat as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in design reviews, technical exchange meetings (TEMs), and sprint planning with both customer and subcontractor teams.
Basic Qualifications:
· Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility (must be current).
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years with a Master’s degree.
· Experience integrating complex software systems in classified or mission-critical environments.
· Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud, DevSecOps pipelines, Python or Ruby, and networking principles.
· Demonstrated success in leading integration efforts in support of DoD or USSF programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience on USSF efforts such as R2C2, Enterprise Ground Services (EGS), or GC3.
· Familiarity with satellite ground system components: Mission Management, Flight Dynamics, Constellation Management, and Orbital Planning.
· Experience with tools such as GMSEC, C2MS, and AWS Diode.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to brief government stakeholders and collaborate across multiple organizations.
