Job Description

Simulation Engineer – Discrete Event & Robotics Systems

Join a global leader in industrial automation and help shape the future of smart manufacturing. We are looking for a forward-thinking Simulation Engineer to develop and apply advanced discrete event simulation models to evaluate and optimize automated production systems, focusing on improving efficiency, reliability, and tooling performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement discrete event simulation (DES) models for highly automated manufacturing environments, including robotic cells, material handling systems, and assembly lines.

  • Analyze process capability, identify performance bottlenecks, and develop data-driven strategies to enhance system throughput and operational efficiency.

  • Integrate reliability engineering and downtime analysis for robotics, tooling, and automation equipment within simulation models.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and ensure simulation accuracy.

  • Use simulation software tools like AnyLogic, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation, FlexSim, or similar to create dynamic models of manufacturing workflows.

  • Generate detailed reports and visualizations to support engineering decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Hands-on experience with discrete event simulation tools such as Tecnomatix, AnyLogic, FlexSim, or Arena.

  • Familiarity with robotics, PLC-based automation, and mechatronic systems.

  • Strong background in reliability modeling, downtime tracking, and tooling analysis.

  • Skilled in data analysis and mathematical modeling using Python, MATLAB, Excel, or other technical tools.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex simulation outputs into actionable insights.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in robotic automation, smart factories, or Industry 4.0 environments.

  • Knowledge of digital twin concepts and real-time simulation integration.
