Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in our licensed Small Family Home. The DSP will provide individualized care, supervision, and support to children or youth with disabilities and/or behavioral health needs. This role is essential in fostering a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment that promotes growth, independence, and emotional well-being.
The ideal candidate will be committed to person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and uphold all licensing and regulatory requirements per California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to residents in accordance with their needs and service plans.
- Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, meals, chores, and recreational activities.
- Support emotional and behavioral regulation through positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
- Assist with the administration of medications and maintain accurate documentation as required.
- Transport residents safely to appointments, school, or activities as needed (must have valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in the home.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing standards and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a DSP, Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
- Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Experience working with children, youth, or individuals with developmental or behavioral needs.
- Ability to pass background check, TB test, and obtain first aid/CPR certification.
