Electrical Service Technician – Commercial Buildings (MD & DC Area)
Location: Montgomery County NOVA & Washington, D.C.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM Start
Hours: 40-Hour Work Week (Overtime Opportunities Available)
Pay Range: $32 – $36 per hour (based on experience and licensing)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Electrical Service Technician for commercial building service work throughout the Maryland and Washington, D.C. areas. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, can work independently or lead a helper, and takes pride in performing safe, high-quality electrical installations and maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Install conduit and pipe for electrical wires and cables, ensuring compliance with NEC and local codes.
- Install circuit breakers, panels, and electrical hardware, connecting wiring as required.
- Connect electrical systems to power sources to supply electricity to commercial buildings.
- Test electrical systems for proper installation, continuity, and operation.
- Inspect and diagnose electrical systems and components; perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Replace conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
- Use test meters, diagnostic tools, and hand/power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, test meters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to lead a helper and coordinate small service tasks.
- Bucket truck experience preferred.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years in the commercial electrical service industry.
- Completion of Apprenticeship or Journeyman’s License preferred (MD or DC).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent troubleshooting and repair abilities.
- Drug screen and background check required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $32 – $38/hour (depending on experience and licensing)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM start, 40-hour work week
