Job Title: Engineering Lab Technician

Pay Rate: $27.00/hour
Job Type: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Permanent Conversion, Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment during the assignment)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour day shift
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Engineering Lab Technician to support daily operations within a fast-paced Compatibility & Customer Enablement (CCE) lab environment. This role is centered around ensuring lab systems, equipment, and infrastructure are fully operational and ready to support ongoing engineering and customer validation efforts. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining lab equipment, troubleshooting electro-mechanical issues, and helping manage lab assets and inventory. Success in this role requires a strong technical foundation, the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues, and a collaborative mindset to support engineers and cross-functional teams in a dynamic, high-tech setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily lab operations across systems, equipment, and infrastructure
- Set up, move, configure, and troubleshoot lab equipment and systems
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on electro-mechanical equipment used in testing and manufacturing environments
- Dismantle, repair, adjust, and reassemble equipment based on layouts, manuals, and engineering guidance
- Use diagnostic and testing tools to validate equipment performance and identify issues
- Track lab assets, systems, and inventory using established processes and tools
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, ESD protocols, calibration requirements, and preventive maintenance schedules
- Assist with equipment rebuilds and modifications as directed by engineering teams
- Collaborate with engineers, lab users, and cross-functional partners to support lab efficiency and readiness
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in a lab, manufacturing, engineering support, or technical environment
- Experience working with hardware, lab systems, or electro-mechanical equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical and/or mechanical)
- Familiarity with equipment tracking, inventory systems, or asset management tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
