Position Type: Part-Time (15–20 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 5:30 PM–9:30 PM)

Location: Contra Costa County, CA (On-site – Martinez)

Salary: $21 - $22 per hour

BGCSV has grown steadily over the past decade to become the largest expanded learning organization in Santa Clara County. Our 35 program locations and team of nearly 400 staff serve more than 7,000 youth. Our clubhouses serve San Jose, Redwood City, Concord, Richmond, Pittsburg, Martinez, and Antioch youth.


Position Summary:


The Facilities Monitor ensures the safety, security, and proper use of the Boys & Girls Club facility during after-program hours. This position is responsible for supervising building access, maintaining a clean and orderly environment, and securing the facility at closing each night.


This role does not involve direct supervision of Boys & Girls Club members, but focuses on overseeing and supporting outside users of the facility, such as after-hours teams or community groups.

Key Responsibilities:


Facility Supervision:

  • Oversee all building activity during after-hours programs, practices, and events.
  • Ensures only authorized individuals, such as teams, coaches, and participants, are permitted in the facility.
  • Maintain a visible presence to promote safety, respect, and appropriate behavior.

Security & Lock-Up:

  • Oversee and close designated areas of the facility as scheduled.
  • Conduct end-of-shift walkthroughs to verify that all participants have exited the building.
  • Secure all doors, windows, lights, and alarm systems before leaving the premises.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Monitor overall cleanliness and perform light custodial duties (e.g., sweeping gym floors, emptying trash, wiping down surfaces).
  • Report any damage, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Communicate effectively with program staff and club management.
  • Document and report any incidents, safety concerns, or facility issues that occur during after-hours activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work independently, responsibly, and with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail.
  • Prior experience in facility monitoring, custodial services, or security preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform basic custodial or maintenance tasks.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
